After the very first photograph was taken in 1826, the process was immediately investigated to see if there could be some sort of improvement to the methods for taking a photograph since it took so long to render an image. Today's Chicago commercial photographer is able to take thousands of photographs within seconds if his equipment so permits it, but hundreds of years ago a single photograph could be taken only every ten minutes because it took so long to render and affix the image to a particular surface after exposing it to light for minutes upon minutes.
